Lyme disease
Written by Dr Alexis Robic · Studio Inné, Marseille

A quiet but devastating disease
“I’m exhausted. I hurt everywhere. My memory is failing. My tests are normal. I’m told it’s all in my head.”
Lyme disease is one of the most underdiagnosed and poorly managed conditions of our time. People talk of a “little tick bite”, of “neurosis”, of “unexplained” symptoms. But at Inné, we know that nothing in the body falls out of balance without a reason. And that behind some chronic pain there sometimes lies a story far deeper and far older than official medicine is willing to acknowledge.
Lyme disease: what exactly are we talking about?
Lyme disease is a bacterial infection caused by the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi, transmitted by the bite of an infected tick. It can affect all of the body’s systems: joints, nervous system, heart, digestion, immunity.
It often shows up as:
- deep, unexplained fatigue,
- migrating joint or muscle pain,
- cognitive problems (brain fog, memory loss),
- neurological problems (tingling, facial paralysis, neuralgia),
- heart or digestive symptoms with no identifiable cause.
Standard tests (ELISA, Western Blot) regularly fall short. But the pain remains. Because it comes from further back than the diagnostic protocol is willing to look.
What the declassified archives reveal
What few French doctors tell their patients, and what decades of institutional silence have carefully buried, is now beginning to come to the surface.
In March 2026, Dr Robert Malone published an investigation drawing on dozens of declassified documents, testimony from CIA agents, Congressional reports and military archives, establishing a direct link between the American biological weapons programme (1943–1969) and the explosion of Lyme disease around Long Island from the 1970s onwards. The programme aimed to develop pathogens that could be spread by arthropods: ticks, fleas, mosquitoes. FranceSoir
Plum Island, a military laboratory located less than 15 kilometres from the town of Lyme in Connecticut, carried out experiments infecting ticks with various bacteria. For the researchers who worked there, Borrelia burgdorferi was an ideal biological warfare agent: able to mimic many diseases, hard to detect, hard to treat. Maladie-lyme-traitements
The declassified JFK files confirmed that the Pentagon funded research as part of Operation Mongoose, a secret programme aimed at destabilising Cuba by infecting farm workers with debilitating diseases. The programme was designed so that the outbreaks would look like local natural disasters. Réseau International
In 2019, the US Congress passed an amendment requiring the Department of Defense to investigate the possible involvement of its biological warfare laboratories in the weaponisation of Lyme disease. That investigation was buried, overshadowed by the Covid-19 pandemic. Xinhua News
This is not a theory. These are facts that have been documented, voted on, archived and carefully silenced.
Professor Christian Perronne: the man who told the truth from the start
In France, one man has carried this fight for more than twenty years, at the cost of his career.
Former head of the infectious diseases department at the Raymond-Poincaré hospital in Garches, chair of several medical bodies, vice-chair of a WHO expert group on vaccination — Professor Christian Perronne has established himself as the most committed voice for the recognition of chronic Lyme disease. His fight has lasted more than twenty years. Santé Nutrition
He obtained recognition of SPPT (a persistent polymorphic syndrome after a possible tick bite) by the Haute Autorité de santé, France’s national health authority, making it possible to treat patients with all the symptoms of Lyme, even without a positive test. This breakthrough provoked an outcry from the institutional medical community. Santé Nutrition
For years, Professor Perronne has been denouncing the fact that millions of patients have been left behind because of faulty diagnostic tests. Patients have lost their jobs, their families, their health, and were told it was all in their heads. FranceSoir
In 2020, the AP-HP (the Paris public hospitals) removed him from his post as head of department. The association France Lyme sounded the alarm: he was one of the few professors of medicine in France working tirelessly for the health system to finally take care of the hundreds of thousands of patients suffering in silence. Association France Lyme
He has not kept quiet. He carries on.
What science confirms
1. Borrelia evades standard diagnostic protocols “Borrelia burgdorferi evades adaptive immunity” Elsner et al., PLOS Pathogens, 2015 The bacterium is able to alter its surface antigens to evade the immune response, which makes standard serological tests insufficient in persistent forms.
2. The nervous system is a prime target of the infection “Lyme neuroborreliosis: clinical outcomes, controversy, pathogenesis, and polymicrobial infections” Logigian et al., Annals of Neurology, 2014 The neurological effects of Lyme include cognitive deficits, encephalopathy and peripheral neuropathies, often mistaken for other neurological or psychiatric conditions.
3. Chronic inflammation sustains the terrain long after the infection “Post-treatment Lyme disease syndrome and the management of patients with persistent symptoms” Rebman & Aucott, Infectious Disease Clinics of North America, 2020. In a significant proportion of treated patients, persistent symptoms are explained by dysregulation of the immune and neuro-inflammatory systems, with no detectable active bacterial presence.

What we observe at Inné
In people suffering from chronic Lyme or related syndromes, we consistently find several levels of impairment:
Lyme disease is not just a bacterial infection. It is a systemic collapse, biological, neurological and emotional, that calls for a response of the same magnitude.
What we offer at Inné
Our care does not aim to “fight” Lyme. It aims to restore the terrain’s capacity to organise itself differently.
Body
- Rebalancing the autonomic nervous system: shifting from survival mode to regeneration mode
- Support with the neuro-inflammatory load and associated co-infections
- Targeted anti-inflammatory nutritional support: microbiota, intestinal permeability, mitochondria
Emotion
- Identifying and releasing emotional and traumatic charges lodged deep in the nervous system
- Work on cellular memory and transgenerational terrains of vulnerability
- Reconnecting with vital tone, which has often collapsed even before the first symptoms appear
Integration
- Remote support, individualised and gradual
- Protocols adapted to the phases of the illness: acute flare-up, stabilisation, rebuilding
- Coordination with the health professionals involved in medical follow-up

We support:
- post-Lyme syndromes or SPPT (persistent syndrome after a possible tick bite),
- people lost in the medical system: those who have been suffering for years without an established diagnosis,
- people rebuilding after long-term antibiotic treatment,
- autoimmune terrains, unexplained chronic fatigue, complex inflammatory profiles,
- pregnant or postpartum women with a history of Lyme.

Lyme disease is not in your head. Nor is it a simple infection that three weeks of antibiotics can erase.
It is the sign of a living system that has tried to resist something far more complex than conventional medicine is yet willing to name.
Decades of institutional silence have not stopped the truth from emerging.
Men like Professor Perronne have carried it alone, against everyone, for those who suffer.
At Inné, we do not claim to heal everything. We help the terrain recover its ability to defend itself, to regulate itself, to rebuild itself. Because that is always where everything begins.
This text describes what we observe at the studio. Every terrain is unique: a personalised reading always begins with a first consultation.
